Ships Passing: The fallout of falling in to bed - For Arthur
Eames had roused when Arthur started moving, though he wasn't even close to ready to get out of bed. The beauty of things was, it wasn't as if he could be seen going in at the same time as the point man, so he merely dragged the blanket half over his head and pretended to sleep.
He lay there, listening to Arthur move around the room, crawling out long enough to kiss him and mumble about seeing him later in the day.
Except Eames never came in. No call. Just a text saying all was good, explain later. He said nothing though when he came in the day after, two days worth of stubble and looking downright worn and weary as he dropped down at his desk.

“If you had to cover with me to the others, I owe you. I’m more worried though… I know how pissed and annoyed I would have been if you hadn’t called the day after. I definitely owe you for that.” He winked at him, trying to act himself.

Arthur shifted on his lap and pressed his lips against Eames' again softly, biting playfully on his bottom lip. "Are you hungry at all? Have food -- that I didn't cook."
no subject
"I could eat," he admitted with the shrug of one shoulder. "You can't cook?"
no subject
no subject
"Don't be long," he admonished in a soft, tender growl.
no subject
"Mm, I won't," Arthur murmured and slid from his lap to walk over to the small kitchen and taking out the food. It was all food that he knew wouldn't be bad if it was cold - salad, cold cuts, cheese, fruit and bread.
no subject
That Arthur had gone through all that trouble meant a lot to Eames and he couldn't help but smile that he'd done this.
"You're good to me, you know."
no subject
He shrugged a shoulder and sent him a smile. If given the chance, you would probably do the same. "Want something to drink?"
no subject
"I'd love something. Doesn't even have to be alcohol," he admitted.
Oooooh, that icon! <3
Once he returned, he took a seat next to Eames, instead of returning to his lap, so they could both eat easier and handed a soda to him. "If you do want alcohol, I do have plenty of it left," he sent a sideways glance at him. It was the alcohol that had brought them to this point afterall. Alcohol and being the opportunists that they were.
I do love that one
"You know, you didn't have to invite me back here, even after I asked," he admitted in a low voice. "I mean, this isn't a throw away place, is it?" It definitely didn't look like it.
"Let me eat first. I think that pizza was the last time I ate," he confessed, shrugging one shoulder. "Might not want alcohol before I eat."
<3
He frowned. "Should have gotten something more hearty," he said and looked at the salad and selections in front of them.
no subject
"No, this is perfect. Still not sure I could ear more, or heartier."
no subject
Arthur was showing a lot more trust in Eames than he could probably ever imagine showing trust to someone. But, he trusted Eames to keep his side of the bargain.
"Then help yourself," he said with a small smile.
no subject
Moving to dig into the food, showing no shame in eating heavily. He showed manners, but that Eames had gone a bit too long without food certainly showed through in his actions.
"You should eat too," he murmured.
no subject
He watched Eames eat and couldn't resist the smile. Glad that the food hadn't merely gone to waste. "I will," he murmured and started in on some of the food. He wasn't nearly as hungry as Eames was but he still put away a good amount.
no subject
"Thank you for letting me be here," he murmured softly. "I'm not sure what I would have done tonight without you."
no subject
"Wouldn't want you anywhere else," he said softly, looking over at him. That was the absolute truth of it. He didn't think Eames needed to be alone right now and frankly, Arthur hadn't wanted to be alone either. It was much better waking up with Eames' arm slung around him.

Shocking, a bit terrifying with the knowledge of the lives they were in, how deep this could all get if they weren't careful. But that was them, wasn't it? Careful, watchful, unwilling to give this up and yet worried about what it would become. If it would become anything.
"Neither would I," he admitted, reaching for Arthur's hand. "All I could think about when I was trying to decide if I should keep wanting was that I wanted to call you. Not because I knew Arthur could fix it, but because I wanted to be here with here with you."
no subject
His lips curled up and laced his fingers together with Eames. He was full now and as such, he moved in closer and leaned against Eames' side. Arthur found that it was easier to curl up next to Eames than he would have ever thought it would be perhaps. It was nice, for once, that someone just truly wanted to be here with him and not because he was the point man and could fix anything should the problem arise. "No one has said that to me before," he admitted, softly. "That you wanted to call me because of just me and not because you needed my help." It didn't mean he wouldn't offer his services should Eames need it but it was nice that it wasn't the only reason.
no subject
Eames chuckled. “It wasn’t fun but I had it handled. I just… When it was done, I wanted to be with you, like this,” he admitted, sighing heavily and content with being there next to him. “Somewhere I felt safe, who would tell me if I was a fucking moron at the same time,” he said with a small laugh. “You should have heard that before me though,” he murmured softly. “You’ve let people treat you like shit.” And by people he means Cobb. Lets have no mistake about that.
no subject
Arthur knew exactly who Eames meant by people. There had only been one person that Arthur allowed to treat him like that and that was Cobb. It was amazing, and sad really, what guilt would do to a person. After the other night, after he had put away a third of tequila and some vodka, Arthur knew it had to stop. Eames being there and talking sense helped as well. It wasn't as though Arthur had only taken jobs with Cobb during the last two years but he had been quite the fixture in Arthur's life. Sometimes, enough was just enough and he had made it to that point.
"I know," he said. And he did. It had been his own fault but in the end, he was correcting that mistake. Better late than never, right? "Once this is done, it's over," he murmured. Honestly, Arthur was a little annoyed with himself that he had allowed it to continue for as long as it had. If he never had to see Cobb again for years to come, he would be okay with that.
no subject
"If I ever start treating you like shit, I want you to kick me in the arse. You understand me," he said, arching a brow. "I don't want to be like one of those arseholes in your life." Like the one he had to be polite to and not tell to fuck off.
no subject
Leave it to Eames. "Swag," he repeated with an amused smirk. "I'm not sure whether to be more surprised that you know that word or that you actually used it." Course, to counter all the joking, Arthur had to give his own in return. It was the natural order of things after all. He pressed a kiss to Eames' neck before he leaned forward and started gathering all the food together.
"Trust me, I won't hesitate to kick your ass," he shot Eames a sideways look. "He's not going to be in my life for very much longer."
no subject
"You're just thinking about my arse now, aren't you," he teased, smiling as he sat back on the couch, half sprawled. "I know. And if he won't go quietly, I'll persuade him."

Arthur had feelings. Lots of them.
I adore his feelings! All the feelings. Always!
All the feelings forever!
And evers!
