And my body's just a vessel for a broken soul - For Cuspis

They had played a lot of games on the last two josb. Barely talking, fighting constantly, and then there had been Eames' games of pushing buttons until he thought he might get Arthur to snap.

He hadn't.

The flights were in the morning and Eames figured he had one last change to toy with those straight laced and wickedly tempting buttons. With a bottle of scotch in one hand and two glasses in the other, he tapped on Arthur's door.

Setting down the bottle and taking up his own glass, Eames raised his in toast. "To your anal retentive attention to detail," he teased with a wink before taking a drink.

"You can do all that tomorrow. Tonight is for celebrating," he insisted, taking another drink. "Tomorrow you can give me hell, but not tonight, pet."

Arthur eyed the Forger a moment, only to snort slightly, taking a sip of his own drink.

"So I'm to attempt to be cordial tonight, is that what this is?" He asked, obviously teasing about it, as he took another longer drink, hiding his smirk behind his glass.

"That's the rule. Only rule there is. Arthur has to be cordial," he said with a laugh. "While Eames can be anything he wants. I like being the man that makes the rules."

He couldn't help but roll his eyes at that, setting his glass back down as she went to unbuttoning his cuffs. (Yes, he could be relaxed.) "Highly unlikely to happen. But I can let you dream, Mr. Eames."

A single brow arching then, as he found himself watching the forger, suddenly finding he was contemplating the actions of the man in front of him. Before he found himself quickly picking up his scotch again, slowly taking yet another deep sip. "So why was I the best entertainment you could find for the night?"

That got Eames, smirking as he took a step closer to Arthur. "Darling, don't think that is the sum total of my dreams. Especially the ones that involve you," he said, warm from the alcohol and giddy on a good job high and not holding himself back.

Playful, knowing he was pushing buttons and curious to see how Arthur might reaction. "I had options, but I chose this stop. Why? Bothered by that?"

[identity profile] cuspis.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Arthur's brow rose in slight surprise then, only to quickly set it back to something neutral. "Not sure I should ask for specificity on those." He smirked then, a small chuckle escaping him as he was the man still, trying to gauge just how much of his emotions were true, or if they were the scotch talking.

"I'm not bothered, no. Just merely curious; why me, is all."

"I'll make you this deal then, pet. If you find it within yourself to ask, I will answer honestly so do consider carefully how much you really want to know before you ask." Raise his glass once more in toast, amused as he sipped.

"Why not you? You can be charming... when you wish. You can be entertaining... when you wish."

Arthur shook his head then, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth then, as he nodded slowly in understanding. Knowing something it was best not to ask for too many details, (Even if he was curious) as he was more apt to have someone share without asking.

"I will take that as a slight compliment, Mr. Eames." He chuckled softly at that then, taking yet another deep sip of his scotch.

"When do you leave?"

[identity profile] artfulforger.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
"It was meant to be a compliment. All your moods and charms are by your whim. Moreso than with most because you're so careful with who and what you are," he noted.

Shrugging, taking a drink. "Before noon. If I don't sleep before the flights, I can doze then."

[identity profile] cuspis.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Again he nodded, a small sound of amusement escaping him as he did. "So you assume, it's all an act from me? Perhaps I should take up forging?" It was a stated dryly, but moreso as a joke then anything. And it could have been caught to be as such, by the slight twinkle of amusement in his eyes.

"So you assume we will be up all night then - doing what exactly?"

[identity profile] artfulforger.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd pay money to see you in a dress," he teased, smirking over his glass at him. "What is it then," he asked, arching a brow. "You have shown glimpses of it, so why hide it from time to time?"

More than time to time, and he couldn't help he was curious.

"Why not. When's your flight," he asked, not answering the question.

[identity profile] cuspis.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
He did snort with amusement at that, knowing the picture would be rather interesting. Though he was quick to stop, schooling his features into something more expressionless, not fully sure how to exactly answer that.

"Honestly? It's safer." Which was the most honest way he could put it, without saying too much into detail on why he tended to hide things more then others.

"You didn't answer my question though. Doing what exactly?" Yes Eames, he wasn't going to not ask again.

[identity profile] artfulforger.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
That snort perked Eames right up. It was a delightful sound, a moment he certainly wouldn't forget. Not now. Not any time soon.

"Can you always spend life being safe," he asked, arching a brow.

Keeping that look as he winked at Arthur. "Oh I plan to seduce you and spend all night hearing how many ways you can say my name," he said, entirely deadpan before breaking into a smirk. "Talking, Arthur. I thought talking."
