He nodded. “We’ll have to watch the texting too,” he admitted. “I worry they’ll notice the pings and the back and forth with time.”

Of course, that wasn’t his only concern. The other is one he isn’t sure about voicing and wasn’t even certain if he should bring it up but, in the end, he knew that he couldn’t let it come between them either way.

“You and her… You weren’t planning on hooking up with her, were you? I mean, if you were… I don’t want to get between that if you were planning on it,” he said, not quite rushing through the words, or tensing up, but it was obvious he was worried. “I mean, not like I’ve got a claim on you or anything, right?”
